Pulling books for Reserves
I would like to see us offer to pull books from our collection that a professor wants to put on Reserve.
We currently advise them that they need to pull the books themselves.
Professors are now used to this method and will usually send a Department student assistant to do the work but even if word "got around" that we would pull books, I don't think it would create a great deal of work for the Circ staff or our student assistants.
And new professors might not look at us like we were not very helpful when they ask about the Reserves process.

THANK YOU for calling this to my attention. This is exactly the sort of thing I hope the "No Hassles" discussion will reveal. I agree that this would only cause a few moments of work on our end, but reap significant good will on the other. (Actually, maybe not signiicant good will..... but by NOT having this service, I think it causes a lot of grumbling and eye-rolling from the faculty, our customers.)
As part of the whole No Hassles project, I'd also like to re-examine the level of services we provide for faculty. Although we should try to go the extra mile for all our patrons, I think this especially true for faculty.
