Gale Literature Resource Center
I hesitate to venture into the foggy area of literary analysis, but in the spirit of preparing for off-campus information delivery (my current euphemism for avian flu preparation), I find myself asking why we are continuing to purchase the Gale Literary Criticism and DLB series in print.
The latest ICUF price, good until Oct.1, was $2.08/FTE. If we could convince someone that we don't really have 3500 undergraduate FTE who would use this resource, but considerably less, that would not be a price much more than what is being spent on print subscriptions and library labor. If we truly don't want the students using this resource, why do we buy it. If we do want them to use it, why don't we make it more accessible?
